Do You Want To Become An Impactful & Highly-Skilled Strength & Conditioning Coach ?

Athletic Preparations internship allows you to come along side and gain first class coaching experience a wide range of population to sharpen your coaching skills and practice your knowledge and coaching craft in the real world.

The Athletic Preparation Strength and Conditioning Internship is designed to provide you with a comprehensive learning experience that will dramatically improve your coaching skills. You’ll have an opportunity to work in a  integrated model of personal training, sports performance, and group training. Under the supervision of the Athletic Preparation team, you’ll participate in coaching a variety of adult fitness and sports performance clients including youth, high school, collegiate athletes.

Interns follow a detailed educational curriculum covering every aspect of the Atheltic Prep system, including assessment, program design, and coaching skills. Weekly staff inservices, independent learning, and one-on-one learning experiences are scheduled throughout the internship covering a variety of topics each week. In addition, interns may participate in any learning opportunities, such as seminars, that are hosted at Atheltic Preparation during the internship.

Strength & Conditioning Internship Details & Deadlines

We are openly accepting applications for internships, you can apply at anytime.  We offer three internships groups throughout the year:

  • Winter/Spring – January 2nd to June 1st – Deadline for submission is August 1st
  • Summer – June 1st to September 1st – Deadline for submission is February 1st
  • Fall – September 4th to December 31st – Deadline for submission is May 1st

Hours vary based on time of year but include a variety of times including Saturdays, early morning, and evening hours. At times during the sports seasons we are open until as late as 9:30 PM.

We accept both full-time and part-time positions, though prefer full time applicants.  If you have any scheduling restrictions, please disclose them while applying.

All internships are unpaid and participation does not necessarily entitle the participant to a job at the conclusion of the internship

EXPECTATIONS

  • Proper knowledge of common self myofascial release, mobility, dynamic warm up, exercise progressions, and training techniques
  • Strong desire to advance your personal skills and grow as an individual to contribute to the team
  • Eagerness and open mindedness in learning speed, agility, strength, psychology
  • Amazing people skills, communication skills, and professional presentation to allow interactions with clients, parents, coaches, and other team members
  • Uphold Athletic Preparations Core Values at all times

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • First Aid/CPR certification that is valid for the duration of the internship
  • Able to participate in entire duration of internship for 40 hours per week, including the potential for weekend, morning, and evening hours as needed
  • CSCS, NASM, CFSC certification or similar preferred but not mandatory
  • Exercise-related college degree preferred but not mandatory
